eBay Affiliate ProgrameBay is the premiere auction site on the internet. The site went online in 1995, as AuctionWeb, but in 1997 the name was changed to eBay ( short for Echo Bay Technology Group, the company that originally owned the site). In the following years it has rapidly grown to become one of the richest companies in the world. It also owns PayPal, Skype (a digital phone service), and a host of other businesses. eBay (yes, the āeā is a small āeā, even at the beginning of a sentence!) offers several ways for an entrepreneur to make money with the site. People who wish to open stores on eBay can do so at moderate charges per month (depending on the number of features they want included in their store). In these personalized stores, they can sell any items they like, whether used or new products. eBay also offers an affiliate program, which allows individuals to place a variety of advertisements - from large banner ads to small oblong square ads - on their websites. Whenever anyone clicks through their ad onto eBay, and then wins an auction, a percentage of the final cost of that item goes to the individual. The eBay affiliate program can generate a lot of money, if the affiliate maintains patience. There are thousands and thousands of items offered for sale on eBay. In order to customize the ads that appear on their sites, affiliates merely need to add the appropriate keywords when they are creating their advertising blocks. Affiliates are able to choose between a wide variety of ad sizes. Having eBay ads on your site is not going to increase your site traffic. However, as your site gains more and more traffic by other means, you will start getting more click-thrus going to eBay. Unfortunately, affiliates are not paid per click, but rather when the person who clicked through, and then bids on an item, wins an auction. The percentage of success is about 1 in 10. Until your site has sufficient traffic such that a lot of people are clicking through to eBay, the ads will not generate a lot of income. But, as with any other affiliate program, the more visitors your site has, the more money you will make. Author: J. Baxter, Affiliate Marketing Product Reviews |
